One of the most common questions we are asked is simply: how much does MARPE cost? This article sets out ASURA's current fees openly, explains what each phase includes, and explains why prices vary between clinics so you can make an informed comparison.
What Is It?
Adult palatal expansion is usually billed in phases: a diagnostic assessment (including CBCT), the expander phase itself, and any alignment that follows. Some clinics bundle these together; others quote separately. Understanding what is and is not included is essential before comparing fees.
Why Does It Matter?
A headline fee that looks lower may exclude the CBCT, the TADs, the customisation, or the alignment phase. Equally, a higher fee may reflect a fully customised, CBCT-planned appliance placed by a specialist orthodontist. Comparing the components, not just the number, is what matters.
Diagnosis & Assessment
Every case begins with the Palate Expansion Diagnostic Package (£2,800), which includes the CBCT with a written report. This is the foundation for planning your expansion and is required before any appliance can be selected.

ASURA's current fees
Our current fees are: Palate Expansion Diagnostic Package £2,800 (includes CBCT with report; a standalone CBCT with report is £350; a fully reported sleep test is £440 where indicated). MARPE (MSE/FME) from £15,000 including 2–6 TADs. DOME (surgery + orthodontics) from £20,000. Alignment with aligners or braces is quoted separately — clear aligners from £5,950. Why prices vary between clinics
Fees vary for several legitimate reasons. A customised, CBCT-planned appliance costs more to produce than a stock device. The number of TADs (2–6) affects laboratory and clinical cost. Whether alignment is bundled changes the headline figure. Specialist orthodontist-led treatment typically costs more than general-dentist-led treatment, reflecting the additional training and experience. Finally, the level of diagnostic work-up — records, photographs, CBCT reporting — differs between providers.
